Protecting devices with Safe Surfer is easy. Our online dashboard (My Safe Surfer) enables you to protect and monitor devices. Visit the Safe Surfer dashboard (https://my.safesurfer.io), then tap the "Get an account" button.

Create an account with your email address, then read and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If you keep product updates ticked, we will never send you spam.

| If you're an individual, Safe Surfer is most effective when you sign up with the email address of a support person. This means that you would be unable to reset the PIN lock applied to the Safe Surfer protection apps. Alternatively, you could sign up with an email address that is not easily accessible.

Once you're ready, tap the Next button.

Tap the applicable option for your situation. You can then select a tailored option for your default block settings. These settings can be edited later on.

Protect an Android device with Safe Surfer

It’s easy with Safe Surfer to block harmful online content on an Android device. On your first protection installation, it will take around 30 minutes for the full installation, or 45 minutes for the entire guide.

| We demonstrate the installation process on a Samsung device (running Android 14, released in 2023), although the steps will be very similar if you are installing on a different kind of device.

Step 1: Visit the Safe Surfer dashboard

Visit the Safe Surfer dashboard (https://my.safesurfer.io) on one of your personal devices and log in to your account. Click the Devices menu on the left-hand sidebar, then click the New device option.

Click the Android option.

Click the option labelled "Get the Android app".

Inside this section, you'll see a QR code to be scanned within the Safe Surfer app. We’ll use this later on.

Protect an iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Safe Surfer

It’s easy with Safe Surfer to block harmful online content on an Apple mobile device. On your first protection installation, it will take around 20 minutes for the full installation, or 30 minutes for the entire guide.

| The Safe Surfer app requires at least iOS/iPadOS 16. You can find this information on the device to be protected in the Settings app > General > About > Software Version (or iOS/iPadOS Version). If the device to be protected doesn't support a software upgrade, you can still use a different method of protection (for devices running iOS/iPadOS 15).

Step 1: Visit the Safe Surfer dashboard

How to set up the Kid-Safe Phone (or Tablet)

Designed in collaboration with Samsung, our range of Kid-Safe devices are designed to provide your child with a remarkably safe and clean digital experience. This guide will take you through the full installation process as a parent/caregiver. If you're setting up a Kid-Safe device for the first time, it will take around 30 minutes for the full installation, or 45 minutes for the entire guide. Please read through each step carefully, as we'll take you through different protection features and tips.

Step 1: Device setup

|| Important: To simplify the setup process, if you have a SIM card for the device, you should insert it after you've finished this guide. The device might mention to "Add SIM to connect to a mobile network", which can be ignored. You'll also need to follow the instructions on the SIM packet to activate the SIM card. In addition, you will be monitoring the device through the online dashboard (My Safe Surfer). We'll show you how to create a shortcut to My Safe Surfer later on.

After taking the device out of the box, turn it on by holding down the Power button.

Once the device has turned on, tap the Start button.

| We demonstrate the installation process on a device running macOS 15 Sequoia (released in 2024), although the steps will be very similar if you are installing protection on a Mac running an older version of macOS. Where applicable, we mention general menu locations for older, commonly used versions of macOS. The oldest version we support is macOS 11 Big Sur.
