Parental controls on iiNet Australia

It’s easy with Safe Surfer to setup parental controls on iiNet Australia. Along with protecting your privacy, we also use our own behind-the-scenes technology to block porn and other harmful online content. This guide will efficiently walk you through how to setup protection.

Step 1: Configure DNS

Check for an IP address on the bottom of your home router. This could be "192.168.0.1" or "192.168.1.1". Once you've found it, enter it into the address bar at the top of your web browser and log in with the username and password found on the router.

Next, you will be looking for a section that allows you to change the DNS settings. This could be under the Advanced tab > Network > Internet > IPv4 > Advanced.

For “Primary DNS”, type 104.197.28.121 into the text box.
For “Secondary DNS”, type 104.155.237.225 into the text box.

Click the Save button. If there is a section for IPv6, turn this feature off.

Step 2: Verify the installation

Verify the protection installation by visiting ExampleAdultSite.com inside a web browser. This is a safe website for testing to see if pornographic websites are being blocked. If it's not blocked, review the previous steps.
