How can I update the Kid-Safe Experience?

On occasion, Safe Surfer will update the Kid-Safe Experience technology. These will be made available approximately every 6 to 12 months, and can be important to ensure the best experience for when Android upgrades are released by Samsung each year. (Each phone has its own update policy. For example, the Galaxy A06 is entitled to two upgrades, being till Android 16.) You can find out how to update in this article.

You'll need to have the device on-hand to perform the update process.

Update Kid-Safe Experience for a device



If we have published an update for the Kid-Safe Experience, you will be able to find this on the More info menu for the device in question. Visit the Devices menu, then click the More info button on the applicable device listing.



If there is an update available, there will be a section regarding an update. Click the Update now button.



We recommend having the device connected to Wi-Fi while performing the update. Once you're ready, click the Start update button.



This will take a moment to complete.



On the device, you should see some information regarding the Safe Surfer profile updating. When asked, tap the "I agree to all" option.



Tap the Agree button.



Back on the dashboard, you should see a message regarding the update having been completed. Click the Done button.

If you see the "Almost there" screen, tap the "Restrict app & settings access" checkbox. Navigate to Installed apps > Safe Surfer > tap the first switch to turn it off > tap the Turn off option > tap the first switch to turn it on > Allow > tap the Home button to leave the Settings menu.
