Why does Safe Surfer for Windows not work when using a SIM card (mobile broadband) connection on my laptop?
Some laptops (especially in the business market) feature a 4G/5G mobile broadband modem. This is very similar to the technology used to provide a cellular connection for smartphones, along with some tablets. Due to how Windows works, Safe Surfer unfortunately does not support filtering when connecting to the Internet over a mobile broadband modem.
Safe Surfer fully supports filtering when connecting to the Internet over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Filtering will also work correctly if the laptop connects to a mobile hotspot over Wi-Fi.
