How can I remove or uninstall Safe Surfer from a Kid-Safe Smartphone or Tablet?

If you wish to stop using the Safe Surfer Kid-Safe Experience on a Kid-Safe Smartphone or Tablet device, you can find out how to discontinue use in this article. This will also cancel the subscription for the Kid-Safe device in question.

Please note that this guide is not applicable for devices protected by Safe Surfer through the Google Play Store. If this is the case, you can find out how to uninstall Safe Surfer for Android by clicking this link.

Step 1: Unregister Kid-Safe device

On the Safe Surfer dashboard, visit the Devices menu, then click the three-dot button on the applicable device listing. Please make sure that you select the correct device.

Click the Delete option.

When prompted, click the Turn off option. This will disconnect the Samsung Knox technology. (Safe Surfer will still be on the phone).

If you would like to disconnect the Safe Surfer app itself from your Safe Surfer account, click the OK button when prompted. (Safe Surfer will still be on the phone, but custom blocking and monitoring settings will no longer be applied.)

The device can continue to be used as a normal smartphone.

Step 2: Factory reset device (optional)

If you would like to sell or give away this device, you can factory reset it.

Navigate to the Settings app > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset > Delete all.
Once you reach the Welcome screen, go through the setup process so that the Samsung Knox checks can be ignored for the next device owner. You won't need to sign in to any accounts. If you get asked about signing in to a Samsung account, select the "Forgot password or don't have an account?" option. Once you have reached the home screen, navigate again to the Settings app > General management > Reset > Factory data reset > Reset > Delete all. Once you reach the Welcome screen, you can safely turn off the phone by holding down the power button > Power off > Power off.
