Using a Huawei-brand wireless (cellular 4G/5G) modem with Wi-Fi Lifeguard
If you have a Huawei-brand wireless (cellular 4G/5G) modem and you attempt to use it with the Safe Surfer Wi-Fi Lifeguard router, after connecting a device to the Wi-Fi Lifeguard, you might get a message that says the device has no internet. This is because some Huawei wireless modems use what's called the same "subnet range" as Wi-Fi Lifeguard (that is, they both use the exact same address range 192.168.8.0, therefore causing the "No internet" issue when connecting to the Wi-Fi Lifeguard).
You can resolve this by connecting a device to the Huawei Wi-Fi, visiting "192.168.8.1" in your address bar, and logging in with the username and password as printed on the bottom of the Huawei modem. Once you've done this, navigate to Advanced > Router > DHCP, and set the third number in the LAN IP address field to 7 (so it should read like "192.168.7.1"). This will automatically update the DHCP IP range field. Once you've done this, click the Save button, which will restart the Huawei Wi-Fi. Once the Huawei Wi-Fi has restarted, you can now continue with the Lifeguard setup guide.
