Change Wi-Fi network names and advanced settings on my Wi-Fi Lifeguard network
Want to change the SSIDs (Wi-Fi network names) that your Wi-Fi Lifeguard network broadcasts? This article will show you how to perform this.
Ensure that you are connected to your Wi-Fi Lifeguard network. Using your favourite web browser (e.g. Google Chrome or Firefox) open the administration panel by visiting 192.168.8.1
Enter in the email address and password that belong to your Safe Surfer account. If you have not made an account, the Wi-Fi Lifeguard administration panel will prompt you to create one.
Once you have logged in, navigate to System > WiFi Setup. This menu allows you to change the names that are broadcast.
The WiFi Setup menu has configuration settings for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands that your Wi-Fi Lifeguard broadcasts. If you have a mesh network, you will have only one SSID (Wi-Fi network name) being broadcast as Wi-Fi Lifeguard automates this for you. For example, you could change the 2.4 GHz SSID to be called "Smith Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz".
You can also change the passwords for each SSID if you wish.
If you need to change any advanced settings (such as channel or channel width), you can find these under the Advanced menu.
