How to uninstall the Safe Surfer iOS DNS profile

This guide will show you how to uninstall the Safe Surfer configuration profile on an iPhone or iPad.

This uninstallation guide is for iPhone and iPad devices that were protected without the Safe Surfer app. If you used the Safe Surfer app to install protection (being our normal protection method), you can view the correct guide by clicking this link.

Step 1: Uninstall the Safe Surfer profile

Open the Settings app on the protected device.

Tap the General menu.

Tap the VPN & Device Management menu.

Tap the Safe Surfer listing under the Configuration Profile section.

Tap the Remove Profile button.

Enter the passcode used to unlock this device.

On the prompt that appears, tap the Remove button.

Step 2: Turn off Apple content restrictions

Go to the Settings main menu, then tap the Screen Time menu.

Tap the Content & Privacy Restrictions menu.

Tap the switch found next to Content & Privacy Restrictions.

Enter the Screen Time passcode. Once you've done this, go back to the Screen Time main menu to save the changes.

If you've forgotten the passcode (and you set up Screen Time Passcode Recovery), navigate to the Screen Time main menu > Change Screen Time Passcode > Turn off Screen Time Passcode > tap the "Forgot Passcode?" option > enter the details for the Apple Account that was used to set up Screen Time Passcode Recovery.

Uninstallation complete

You have now successfully uninstalled Safe Surfer from this device. As the account holder, you can also remove the listing for the now unprotected device by visiting the Devices menu (https://my.safesurfer.io/devices). On the Devices menu, select the user that this device is assigned to > click the applicable device listing > click the three-dot button found inside the listing > Delete (and confirm).
