Why does Safe Surfer on Samsung Android devices say that Auto Blocker is on and device admin apps can't be activated?
The Safe Surfer for Android app uses a special Android feature called Device admin when you turn on the Prevent uninstallation features. The Device admin feature lets us stop the Safe Surfer app from being uninstalled on the Home and Apps screens, along with instructing the device to not affect the Safe Surfer app with any force stop or power saving features (as per Google's design).
On Samsung devices running One UI 6.1 or newer, you might see a notification during the Prevent uninstallation setup process that mentions how "Auto Blocker is on with maximum restrictions. To protect your security, device admin apps can't be activated." If you're seeing this notification, this is because the device has the Maximum restrictions option turned on for the Auto Blocker feature. You can resolve this by navigating to the Settings app > Security & privacy > Auto Blocker > Maximum restrictions > turn off the Maximum restrictions switch. Once you've done that, you can then continue with the Prevent uninstallation process.
Safe Surfer is reviewed and authorised by Google to use this feature as a parental controls app. We do not abuse this feature in any way.
