How to uninstall Safe Surfer for a Mac device

This guide will show you how to uninstall Safe Surfer on a Mac device, along with any remaining protection installation.

Was this device protected without the Safe Surfer for Mac app (that is, with just the configuration profile)? This would have been if you installed Safe Surfer before mid-2026, or for an older Mac. You can find the correct uninstallation guide by clicking this link.

Uninstall Safe Surfer

Open the System Settings app, then click the General menu on the left-hand sidebar. Open the Login Items & Extensions menu, then under the App Background Activity section, turn off the switch found next to Safe Surfer Ltd.

Click the Privacy & Security menu on the left-hand sidebar, then open the Screen & System Audio Recording menu. Highlight the Safe Surfer Helper listing, then click the "–" button to remove it.

Click the General menu on the left-hand sidebar, then open the Device Management menu. Click the Unenrol button on the MDM Enrollment listing.

Once the profiles have been removed, you'll need to restart the Mac before continuing.

After restarting the Mac, open the Finder app, then click the Applications menu on the left-hand side. Find the Safe Surfer app listing, then drag it to the Bin on the dock.

Uninstallation complete

You have now uninstalled Safe Surfer from this device. You can also remove the listing for this device on the My Safe Surfer online dashboard's Devices menu (https://my.safesurfer.io/devices) by clicking the three-dot button on the applicable device listing > click the Delete option.
