# How to sync blocking for newly downloaded apps on supervised iPhone and iPad devices

If you have an iPhone or iPad device that has been [supervised](https://helpdesk.safesurfer.io/en-nz/article/how-to-stop-safe-surfer-protection-from-being-uninstalled-on-apple-mobile-devices-1sjiw2h/) (using the app blocking supervision path), you can fully block individual apps, along with setting up screentime rules. In some cases, if the user downloads a new app, you might need to sync the installed app list so that the Safe Surfer cloud servers are aware that the app exists on the phone. You can do this by opening the Safe Surfer app on the applicable device > tap the Sync Installed Apps option. Once you've refreshed the page for the online Safe Surfer dashboard, you should be able to see the app in question being reported as "Installed", where the blocking and screentime features should now be available for that app through the special app blocking features. By default, this automatically takes place every 24 hours.
